![]() ![]() ![]() LMMS is yet another best free Mac audio workstation which is available for Mac users and when used with the right kind of software it creates magic with music. Powerful and robust feature set: Audacity is loaded with audio editing, recording, and exporting tools that work in tandem with Mac's multimedia capabilities. The downsides are a dated and sometimes clunky interface and a cumbersome installation process. Audacity for Mac is a powerful audio editing tool that surpasses default OS X tools. Once the page has loaded, our readers will want to click the link for Mac OS X, as shown here: When clicked, your internet browser may prompt you to open/save the file. There is one tried and true location to pick up your free download of Audacity, and that location has been, is and will continue to be in the foreseeable future. All I can report is performance issues mentioned here are very poor in comparison and obviously nothing is changing with the hardware. These versions are available on FossHub. This could easily be something I’m missing but I don’t know what. In addition to my initial query I note and have observed that adding a track by dragging and dropping into a blank Audacity Window rarely works and to add it requires going the “long way” via the menu bar…but that’s not for this issue… I use Audacity so much I am going to be forced to reinstall High Sierra in order to get my audio files edited in a timely manner. It’s just so slow and jittery and I really do not understand why. I find the whole performance speed to be significant compromised in Catalina with the latest version producing ultra slow manoeuvrers, e.g. This issue is with the protracted time it now takes, slow and jittery to move even a few seconds (clearly seen in the video clip) along the waveform in comparison to the smooth slick scrolling I could achieve in High Sierra with the previous version of Audacity. ![]() I’m dragging it outside the window in order to move the cursor to where i want to edit, i.e the portion of edit ends further along the wavelength hence dragging outside the window to select the area I want. ![]()
